Typographic Projects
Type with Graphic Illustrations
Series of type posters from a Graphic Design class where we explored a past work and broke it down into 3 pieces with illustrations and tupe combined.
Books
Layouts and illustrations designed as part of a book project. The content included excerpts from Randy Pausch's book The Last Lecture along with parts of various to do lists and goals that I had written over the years. Illustrations were inspired by individual frames from an animation called The Heist that I had created previously. The book was printed and assembled with a screen printed velum jacket that went over a grey hardcover.
Cover Design
Interior Page Layouts
This book was a collaborative effort with another student, where I was responsible for the layout. This section on Structure (40-49) became part of a larger book where the additional sections completed by other students. We were challenged to create a cover inspired by Hemingway's six-word novel "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." With the prompt in mind I used a play on words and created the story and design for the cover. “Avoid Widows. Eliminate Orphans…Restore Legibility.” The book was bound using a straight-edge binding technique with a card stock weight cover.
Typographic Posters
Event posters created to celebrate the history of two distinct typefaces; Bodoni (historical) and Vista Sans (contemporary). Each poster is presented as an art show opening poster and gives information about the create of each typeface and all of its weights. Each poster was screen printed at 18x24.
